Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 12, 2026
Obsidian Echo ("the app", "we") has no user accounts and no servers of its own. Your collection progress stays on your device. The app does use a third-party analytics SDK, described below, to understand installs and overall usage.
Information we collect
Obsidian Echo has no user accounts — we do not collect your name, email address, or any information you'd have to type in, because there's nowhere in the app to type it. Through the AppsFlyer SDK (see "Analytics & attribution" below), the app automatically collects device and usage information such as device identifiers, device model and OS version, general (IP-based) location, and how you found and use the app.
What stays on your device
Your progress — the islands you've explored, the stones you've recovered, your ember shard balance, and your app settings — is stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. It never leaves your device, is never backed up to our servers (we don't have any), and is never seen by us. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Analytics & attribution
Obsidian Echo uses AppsFlyer, a mobile analytics and attribution SDK, to measure app installs, understand which channels bring players to the app, and see aggregate usage patterns (such as which screens are opened and how often). AppsFlyer collects device and usage data on our behalf — this can include device identifiers, device model and OS version, IP address (used for approximate location and fraud prevention), and in-app events. This data is used in aggregate to understand app performance and is not used by us to identify you individually. For details, see AppsFlyer's privacy policy and its opt-out tool.
Third-party services
AppsFlyer is currently the only third-party service integrated into Obsidian Echo. We do not use advertising networks, crash reporting services, or any other third-party SDKs beyond it.
Children's privacy
Obsidian Echo does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with data through the app's analytics, contact us using the details below and we will address it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future update introduces a feature that does involve data — we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
